Fire Hoops by LiviJoyHoops stand apart from the rest! We love our Monkey Fist Wicks for their many positive qualities so much that despite their labor, we still really feel that they make amazing fire wicks.
Since they are hardware-free, there are less parts to get hot from the flame and burn you. They are super tight and don’t need any metal to secure them. Monkey fist knots are also super efficient for burning, and because of their round-rope construction can burn for an equal amount of time as other styles, without the bulk, which keeps them extremely lightweight and sleek. Available in two sizes, each one can suit different fire hooping needs and styles. The Pixies are the smaller size, and have a burn time up to 3 minutes. They are great for new hoopers to fire spinning, or they can be utilized to match a shorter performance. They are also fun for fire eating if you like to do that!
Dragons are the larger of the two and can burn up to 5 minutes, are an excellent choice if you really love to extend your session, or if you love a larger flame.
Both styles’ burn time depends on your fuel blend, your speed of hooping, and the environment (i.e. windy conditions). We recommend using White Gas/Camp Fuel. You can also blend white gas with Lamp Oil/Paraffin for a 50/50 mix. This blend can bring the heat down and your burn session lasts a bit longer. The downside to 50/50 is the soot as a byproduct, just clean your props more frequently.
ALWAYS PRACTICE SAFE FIRE SPINNING! You should never spin fire alone, it’s STRONGLY advised that you have someone with you to safety you.
Our fire hoops include a limited use warranty, meaning our wicks and settings are covered. Broken or melted hoops are not covered, but we do offer a Retube service should you need to save your wicks! Speaking of wicks…they will give you several burns depending on your use! Your fire hoop will last you a long time if you take good care of it. To prevent your hoop from melting, be sure that it is always moving and that the flame does not come into contact with the hoop for longer than a few seconds. Be extra mindful during photo shoots.
